I’m a small town, mountain girl. My childhood was mostly spent barefoot and catching frogs. You’d just as soon find me in a tree than playing with dolls. These early adventures shaped me into the person I am today – still catching frogs, but doing it with a camera in my hand.
Photography is how I connect with the world, and the incredible people who cross my path. This hunk of metal and plastic has opened so many doors, inspired new adventures, and forced me out of my comfort zone (in the best possible way). With the endless patience and support of my husband, John, “office assistant” Enzo, and family and friends who always keep me laughing, I can honestly say I’m living my dream.
My approach to photography is informed by all of these experiences. The work I do with my clients all boils down to trust. Imagine the best kind of relationship – you, me, a camera and all of the inside jokes, stolen glances, and open hearts that come with a day spent in the company of friends. More than anything I want to capture you at your purest, to document the most natural, sincere interactions between you and your tribe. I want to tell your story.
When I’m not busy photographing a lifestyle session, or editing a wedding you’ll likely find me in my favorite Lululemon wunder unders, drinking a hot cup of earl grey tea. I reconnect with nature as often as possible with hikes through Laguna Canyon, and indulge my latest TV addiction (hello Westworld) into the late evening hours.
They say when you meet the person you’re supposed to be with, you just know. From the moment John came into my life, I knew he was something special. 10 years later I can honestly say I wouldn’t change a thing. He is my better half, the rock that holds me in place, and the love of my life. We have navigated the ups and downs of life together. It hasn’t always been easy, but there is no one else I’d rather have by my side!
On February 1st, 2017 my world changed forever. At 12:28 pm, in the comfort of our home, I became a mother. Jones Anthony claimed his permanent spot in our family so easily and so naturally that it’s difficult to remember our life without him. He has opened my heart to an unfathomable level of love and, above all, I feel so grateful that I get to be his mama.
When I first went full time in my business, I quickly learned that working from home can be very isolating. It was just me, my computer, and a whole lot of Pandora. Before I knew it, we were at the local animal shelter adopting the craziest kitten they had. Over the last 6 years, Enzo has became the center of our family, my office assistant, and the best cuddle buddy when I need a break from work.
