I’ve been basking in the slowness that comes with the holiday season. You heard me right! We took it real slow and real intentional at our house this year – and I loved every minute of it. Fall and early winter were insane for me and I really needed this downtime to rest and refocus before kicking off 2020. It’s funny how slowing down really does create space and opportunity to reflect. I’ve had time to examine what’s worked well, what needs improving and (most importantly) how incredibly grateful I am to be approaching my 10th year in business! My business started off as a pipe dream and, if I’m being honest, I was pretty certain I would fail. I never imagined I’d be able to pay my bills, plan vacations, save for retirement and much more with just my camera. Wow! I am truly humbled by the support I’ve received over the years – not just from my clients, but all the blog readers, social media followers, industry peers (that I now call friends) and, of course, my family. You all have been there to pick me up when I’ve become tired, frustrated and when I’ve felt like a failure.
As I close out 2019, I want to share how much you being here has made a difference in my life. I have grown up a lot in the past decade and I’ve learned something new about myself with each session and wedding. The challenges I’ve faced have made me not just stronger, but kinder. I don’t take for granted, even for a second, how blessed my life is. Thank you for helping to make 2019 so incredibly beautiful. I’m continuing to build a life for my family that I’m proud of – and you’re a big part of that. Here’s to an amazing 2020! Wishing you all the happiness and success you can fit in the next 12 months!
