Special occasion photos (like this Costa Mesa engagement session) definitely provide an opportunity to get fancy! Oftentimes, couples choose multiple locations for their sessions and incorporate several wardrobe changes. And that can be really lovely. But there is something beautiful in keeping it simple, too! And that’s exactly what Kimberly and Ismael opted for!
The location they chose for their engagement is nothing short of interesting and unique. Definitely not my typical beach, park or hiking trail session spot! We actually met at an office park designed and crafted by critically acclaimed sculptor and landscape architect, Isamu Noguchi. It’s been years since I’ve had the chance to photograph a session here – and it was really fun to capture the setting with fresh eyes and a grateful perspective.
Before you get caught down a deep, deep rabbit hole learning about Isamu Noguchi (and you should – his story is so inspiring!) let’s talk about this sweet couple who is getting married. They’re pretty inspiring, too!
Costa Mesa Engagement Session
Kimberly and Ismael were seriously the cutest! Because they kept their session super simple – there wasn’t a whole lot of stress over clothing or switching locations or dealing with traffic. We just got to hang out and talk about their relationship, upcoming nuptials, and love for each other!
I dare you to try and look through this Costa Mesa engagement session and not smile! Kimberly and Ismael have a great energy, were fun to be around and – bonus – they laughed at all my jokes! If you know me – you know that most of my jokes are lame, so appeasing me by laughing fills my heart!
Kimberly and Ismael’s September wedding is just around the corner – and I can not wait! If their engagement session is any indication — I’d venture to guess it’s going to be a GREAT wedding!
