I had the pleasure of photographing Hanen and Raed’s engagement party and their engagement session last year, and it’s high time I featured them on the blog! Winter often brings a slower pace in my business and I’m so eager to share these beautiful images from this Descanso Gardens engagement session with you.
The photo shoot actually took place in November, but you wouldn’t know it was the end of fall had I not told you. The Descanso Gardens were still so lush with folliage and the fresh flowers and greenery abounded! I know I say this a lot – but this garden is one of my favorite places to shoot – and it served as the picture perfect backdrop for this duo.

I loved the style and color palette Hanen and Raed chose for their engagement session clothes. A balance of comfort and glamour, muted and bold tones. And let me just say, the pop of red for Hanen’s dress and fun ruffled bottom gave the pictures (and me!) so much life!
The way nature enveloped Hanen and Raed as they strolled hand-in-hand through the gardens made me feel like I was watching the scene of a movie. And bonus – I have just a stunning backdrop, but also two lovely humans to work with!
This couple was so at such ease in front of the camera – which speaks so much to both their personalities and their comfortable love for one another. It also speaks to how trusting they were of my style and vision – and for that I am always humbled.
Hanen and Raed’s Descanso Gardens engagement session might have happened in the final chapter of 2018, but it’s clear that their love story has both a rich history and bright future. I can’t wait to see what 2019 (and beyond) holds for this couple!
