Public Service Announcement: I’ll be taking a few days off from blogging to enjoy the holiday and some r&r with friends and family. Don’t get me wrong – I love showcasing all of these gorgeous weddings and lifestyle sessions – but with 4th of July one day away — all I can think of is a cold bevvie, my baby, and the beach! I hope you’re thinking along the same lines!
This summer, I am especially excited about living vicariously through Jones. He’s at such a fun age and has an innate love for the pool and beach – like any good Southern Californian should! I’m so looking forward to exploring all of my favorite SoCal (and beyond) spots with him and my husband – and the 4th of July is the perfect excuse to unplug and do just that!
I get so caught up in the day-to-day grind – that I forget how lucky we are to live in an area of the country where we have so many landscapes at our fingertips. Within an hour, we can not only hit multiple beaches but also be in the mountains, deserts or forests. We are beyond fortunate to have these landscapes practically outside of our door – but even more fortunate that we have the means to get out and explore them. I will never take that for granted, and my hope as a mother is that Jones never will either.
My challenge to you this summer is that you take time to really unplug, get out of the house and explore nature with your people. Maybe it’s just a leisurely walk to a local park, or maybe you load up the car for an impromptu drive outside of town. Whatever you do, and whoever you choose to do it with – let it be sweet, meaningful and full of love!
