This last weekend I had a rare occurrence, BOTH Saturday and Sunday off… no weddings, no shoots, and no work! It has been MONTHS since this has happened, so naturally I took full advantage of the free time. In addition to catching up with loved ones, a show at the Hollywood Bowl and lots of yummy food, I spent Sunday at the CrossFit Games for the final day of competition.
If you’ve never heard of CrossFit… well it’s awesome, horrible, grueling, and my preferred workout! The Games are the world’s premier test to find the Fittest on Earth! This was my first year watching the games, and it was by FAR the best sporting event I’ve ever witnessed! Not just because the the athlete’s were incredible, but because the sense of community was overwhelming! Everyone cheered, yelled and pushed each other during the workouts, and that’s really what CrossFit is all about! The competitor’s gave everything they had over three days, in 10 separate workouts. Fitness means being ready for the unknown and unknowable, so the workouts change every year and were not announced until just before the events start. How crazy is that?
