The day of their engagement session was the first time I actual met Danielle and Daniel. Well, unless you count a Skype date as meeting :) And there is no shame in that! I absolutely loved their idea of having their photos taken on Lake Gregory in a rowboat. How romantic, right?! I nearly fainted from excitement when I learned Danielle had ordered flower garland for the boat. If you’ve kept up with me on social media, you know I have a slight obsession with classy flower decor and crowns (#swoon). Basically, this Lake Gregory rowboat engagement session is as close as I’m ever going to get to starring in a Nicholas Sparks movie. I’ll take it!
Lake Gregory Rowboat Engagement Photos
The setting. The fall colors. The crisp air. The accessories. All of this compiled to make one of the most unique engagement sessions I’ve ever photographed. But none of it overshadowed the love Danielle and Daniel share. The ease this couple had with each other made my job so much fun. They talked and laughed and hugged while floating around Lake Gregory without a care in the world. I can’t wait for them to start their life together as husband and wife!
I think the only thing in competition with the flower garland was Danielle’s gorgeous hair. Seriously – I had (have?) curl envy, bad! Such a beautiful couple.
As a photographer, I myself can get caught up in the details, the lighting or the staging when it comes to shoots. This Lake Gregory rowboat engagement session is the perfect example that you don’t need much to make the magic happen. A quiet, natural setting. A vintage boat. Some lovely flowers. A textured blanket to sit on or wrap yourself up in. This engagement session used minimal props and a whole lot of love and the result is nothing short of perfection.
