Lessons From The Spa

Mar 29, 2010 | Personal

Okay, I admit it, lately I’ve felt like a total slacker when it comes to blogging! I’m usually very good at blogging three times a week, but lately I’ve been so busy that I’ve neglected to post as much as I’d like. So here’s to changing that!

No one really tells you how much time and energy it takes to be a blogger and even if they did, I probably wouldn’t have listened! I am constantly thinking of things to blog about and I have so much respect for those who do it every day!

The idea for todays post came while at the spa yesterday. Let me explain…

I NEVER go to the spa, get massages and up until yesterday I’d never had a real facial. It was an early birthday treat from my sister and a rare occasion. We went to Spa Gregorie’s in Newport Beach and if I had my way, I’d still probably be there! From the warm robes, cucumber chilled water, to the quite room; I was floating on air as I left. But why? Was it the decorations, the staff, the treatment or something entirely different?

Well yes, of course the decor, staff and treatment were important, but what was truly magical was that I knew exactly how I would feel once I was done… better than when I got there!

I realized that if I could do one thing with my photography, it would be to make sure everyone leaves feeling more beautiful, more empowered and more inspired after a shoot. I want to deliver great photography, but most importantly, I want to deliver the experience! I want you to be yourself and leave loving yourself just a little bit more. I want you to embrace who you are and be proud of your imperfections! In my observation, the best photographs come when you let your guard down and give in to the experience!

Just like a day a the spa, I want you to leaving feeling rejuvenated and better than you came!

That is my ultimate goal.
