You might remember Lisa and Rudy from their wedding reception at the end of last year. Although they didn’t have the large ceremony, photography was important to them, so they had an intimate reception and opted to take couples portraits separately. At the time, we thought it would only be a few weeks until we were able to do their couple’s shoot, but we had to keep pushing it back. Luckily, it was certainly worth the wait because we had a stunning afternoon full of beautiful light!
At times I forget the intimate look I have into a couples life, love and relationship from behind my lens. I am so focused on the technical aspects of what I’m doing, that I overlook what’s happening right before my eyes. This was certainly the case with this shoot. I’ve known Lisa and Rudy for a few years now, but after leaving our shoot I saw an entirely different side to them (like how Rudy used to be a MMA fighter- so cool)! I was blown away by the love and kindness they show for each other and that couldn’t be more apparent throughout their shoot! While editing their photographs I was not only thrilled with how they came out, but I felt honored to have a glimpse into their love! Yet another reason why I love my job!!!
We started our shoot by climbing up this hill, which had a beautiful tree and green grass at the top. With heals, white dress and suit Lisa and Rudy obliged my request and I adore the result- thanks guys!! :)
I couldn’t pick between these two shots, so I had to show you both! I love the parasol and the light coming through the trees is heavenly!
While having Lisa walk alone with the parasol, she quickly glanced back to look out for oncoming traffic and *click* there was the shot! Love it when that happens!
After a quick change of clothes we took some relaxed portraits of them together.
Lisa and Rudy, I had so much fun photographing you both! Thank you for letting me capture your love again and again!
