There is something about traveling to another part of this world that reinvigorates the soul. I thrive on exploring new places, whether it’s in my backyard or in a totally different country. Watching the light fade as the sun sets on another part of this glorious planet brings me contentment, and inspires me immensely.
The sites, sounds, and pulse of Guadalajara, Mexico was such a treat to live in for the last week! While traveling for a friends wedding we extended our stay to explore more of the heart of Mexico. I have been to several touristy destinations throughout Mexico, none of which showed me much about what living in Mexico was actually like. So I consider this my first REAL Mexico experience and let me tell you, I was blown away!
From the food, culture and history of Guadalajara, to the agriculture of Blue Agave plants in Tequila I quickly feel in love with the area and its people.
Since I chose not to take my camera, I relied on my iPhone to document the entire trip. This was a challenge because I was greatly limited in equipment, but still wanted to remember how each location looked and (more importantly) felt. Like Chase Jarvis would say “the best camera is the one that’s with you” and I couldn’t agree more!
Here are just a few ways we spent our time in Mexico…
