It’s always flattering when a couple asks me to photograph their wedding day, but when those people also happen to be friends – it’s even better! Vivian and Brian know me and my family very well. We’ve done so much together – from CrossFit to nights out, and everything in between. They are definitely part of our crew. So, when Brian popped the question, we were thrilled for this next step in his and Vivian’s relationship!

For Vivian and Brian’s engagement session, they trusted me to pick a location on their behalf. This happened to be a location that I’ve never photographed before which can sometimes make clients nervous (you can read more about that here). But here’s the truth: I love when my clients go for a location I’m not familiar with! As you can see from the images below, the Newport Beach Civic Center did not disappoint. These engagement photos (much like this couple) are stunning.

The Newport Beach Civic Center and surrounding park is the definition of ‘hidden gem’. It has modern architecture, a stunning cactus garden and a blue covered bridge that would make any photographer swoon! Plus, Vivian and Brian both came dressed to impress! His neutral color palette allowed Vivian’s bold print to stand out in all the right ways. There was not a bad photograph in the bunch!

I’ll be literally counting down the days until Brian and Vivian’s wedding when they are surrounded by their closest family and friends and wrapped in our support! And, because I know these two on a personal level, here is what I can guarantee: Their wedding will be a hell of a good time!
