This couple was set up by a friend (who might have a career in matchmaking in her future), Sungmi, who also ended up being the officiant at their wedding. I think Sungmi said it best: “Jen and Jeff’s relationship is based on a real love, not the kind filled with gifts and grand gestures, but rather a deep connection filled with honesty, respect, and appreciation for one another.” If you ask me, THIS is what all relationships should strive for. This type of love is what will get a couple through good times and bad. Through sickness and health. Through all the hurdles that this crazy thing we call life will throw at them. This Santa Barbara Zoo wedding was a testament to what true love is.
Santa Barbara Zoo Wedding Photos
Jen and Jeff’s wedding day was one of those days where everything went exactly as planned. Married at the adorable Santa Barbara Zoo, the couple seemed to literally float through their day. I was thrilled to be their photographer from the very beginning, but watching them on their wedding day made me adore them even more. It was awesome to see both families so excited, smiling from ear to ear, as they watched these two get married. If you didn’t know any better, you would’ve thought that Jen and Jeff’s families were old friends, with relationships that go back for ages. It was truly something special seeing them all come together to support this couple on their wedding day.
As if the Santa Barbara Zoo venue wasn’t cool enough, Jen and Jeff got ready at the coolest house everrrrrrr. This place overlooked the mountains, had a pool, tennis court, chicken coop and a barn! I didn’t want to leave!
This was one of those weddings I wish I was a guest, because they got to feed giraffes, hang out with penguins, enjoy a professional Lions Dance performance, and end the night with trays of ice cream sandwiches. Like, for real, people. Most amazing day ever!
This wedding was a great mix of rustic, glam and down-right fun. Not much decor was needed to amp up this venue, but I absolutely adored Jen’s choices for her dress, flowers and accessories. By the huge smile on Jeff’s face, I’d say he agrees. :) The small personalized touches throughout the ceremony and reception really showed the couples personality. But, let’s get real, they hosted their wedding at a zoo… so basically you know their personalities rock!
Here’s to many more years of fun and adventure together, Jen and Jeff! Thank you for inviting me to be a part of your day.
