Melissa and Matt are seriously the cutest (photographic proof below). This lovely couple was married a few years ago and I had the privilege of photographing their Condors Nest Ranch wedding. Time has seriously just flown by and I was so touched that they reached out to me and told me they were expecting a little boy. Many of you know that I am a new mama myself, so this Spring Back Bay maternity shoot gave me so many feels!
Waiting for your first baby to be born is a special time packed full of every emotion you can think of. There’s the planning, prepping, celebrating- but mostly it’s just waiting. Waiting to tell your family the big news, waiting for the first kick, waiting for your next appointment and, of course, waiting for your precious baby to make his or her debut. All the waiting can be a bit agonizing. You know your world is about to change in a million and ten ways, but all you can do is wait (hopefully patiently) until delivery day.
A maternity shoot can be a lovely way to break up the wait. I wish every mama had beautiful photos of herself during her pregnancy and I’m so happy I got to do this for Melissa and Matt. :)
Spring Back Bay Maternity Shoot
This Spring Back Bay maternity shoot was the bee’s knees (seasonal pun intended). But for real. California does Spring right! It’s been a gorgeous season so far and the yellow mustard flowers are on point. My time with Melissa and Matt was spent talking, laughing and just soaking up all of the Spring goodness.
Their excitement about meeting their baby in a few weeks was palpable and I couldn’t be more excited for them. Knowing what I know now, two months on the other side of baby, I know how precious this in-between time is for Melissa and Matt. My wish for them is that they get through the next few weeks with ease, just soaking up each moment as a family of two. And, that they’ll always be able to look back at these photos and remember was a sweet time it was.
