Katie & Sazi are a special kind of awesome. If flying me to Maine for their destination wedding wasn’t enough, I was blown away by the stunning location they choose to tie the knot. The Barn at Flanagan Farm is a remodeled 19th century farmhouse full of so much charm, light and laughter.
Katie has been my hair dresser for years, and during that time I’ve gotten to know her well. So I can honestly say Sazi is her perfect compliment. They balance each other out, accept the others quirks, and love one another endlessly.
I haven’t been this intimately involved in the actual prep for a wedding since my own. We spent many nights in Maine making bouquets, fine tuning the overall look of the wedding. Clearly I’m biased, but this might be one of the most stunning weddings I’ve ever photographed! From the local flowers that were hand picked at a nearby farm, to the tree branches that were cut from the surrounding forest, this was a true culmination of hard work from the people who love Katie and Sazi the most.
When the forecast of rain threaten the interrupt the ceremony, everyone was unfazed. With the crashing of thunder in the distance, the clouds literally parted and the sun began to shine as Katie and her father walked down the aisle. The day couldn’t have gone smoother, and as dinner was served in the barn the clouds opened up and the heavens poured down. As the rain slowed, we were treated to a double rainbow that stretched across the sky. If that isn’t good luck, I don’t know what is!
It was truly a remarkable wedding and I’m thrilled to share their story with you today. Join me in wishing these two a lifetime of luck, love and rainbows.
