Valley Vista Country Club Wedding: Katelyn & Craig

Mar 19, 2020 | Wedding

On wedding days (and most definitely in life) we have to embrace the following mantra: Let. It. Go. And let me tell you, that’s really freaking hard to do, especially when it comes to a day you’ve been planning and dreaming of for months! I’ve been in this industry for a long time and, let me tell you, I’ve seen some crazy things. But nothing bums a bride and groom out more than rain on their wedding day.

Couples getting married in Southern California have pretty good odds when it comes to the weather on their big day. Occasionally, Mother Nature has other plans and shows up (in a big way) and all bets are off. This is where the ‘letting it go’ comes in because Mother Nature is going to win….every time.

So, what’s a couple to do when they are facing less-than-ideal weather on their wedding day? Pro Tip: Do exactly what Katelyn and Craig did at their Valley Vista Country Club wedding. Sit back, consciously choose not to let the weather ruin your day, put your trust in your vendors, and then HAVE FUN.

Valley Vista Country Club Wedding Photos

Looking at these photos you’d never guess that it was pouring rain twenty minutes before we did Katelyn and Craig’s first look. And when I say pouring, I mean it in every sense of the word. Katelyn and Craig’s equally chill demeanor really paid off because they were both fully present and truly excited heading into their day. And wouldn’t you know it, Mother Nature ended up doing them a solid, the rain passed and it ended up being a beautifully clear day.

The much-welcomed sunshine highlighted the stunning grounds of the Valley Vista Country Club – which made my heart (and this bride and groom) very happy. The sweeping greens and classic architecture framed Katelyn and Craig’s black and white palette well.

I love spending my weekends with people who are both in love and surrounded by an abundance of love. And, as a bonus, some of my very favorite industry vendors were in attendance, too.

Cheers to you, Katelyn and Craig! Rain or shine – you two are in this wild (and sometimes wet) ride together and I couldn’t be happier for you!
