There are few feelings like coming home. The familiarity, safety and memories consume you, quickly feeling as if you never left! Childhood flashbacks to barefoot adventures and small town life are just as vivid, a constant reminder of who I am and where I came from. Hours seems to move slower and for a few days I’m transported back to another time.
Last week, I took a much needed trip home to the mountain’s of Northern California, where cell phones don’t have service and stoplights don’t exist! Gasp!! ;) It was amazing to be home and even better to spend time with the most important people in life, my family! We don’t always get the chance to see each other, but after this trip, my heart is already yearning to go back!
I rarely post personal pictures, so I thought I’d give you a glimpse into our trip and my hometown!
Nothing like home cooked food, my mom is the BEST cook I know!
She also has a VERY green thumb, these roses smelled amazing (hi mom)!
Fresh picked blackberries!!
Kayaking on Lewistion Lake, just melts my heart thinking about it!
A rare photograph of me IN FRONT of the camera.
Over the weekend we celebrated my Dad’s 60th Birthday and it was quite a walk down memory lane! I loved catching up with elementary school teachers, school bus drivers, and lots of family friends!!
This little sweetie was the youngest attendant, and by far the cutest!!
