One of the best parts of having a kid is getting to relive your childhood while making new memories and traditions of your own! When it comes to Halloween, I know I have a few short years (3 if I’m lucky) that I actually get to choose his costume – so of course, I’m taking full advantage, and documenting all of Jones’ cuteness on his first Halloween!
If you’ve followed the blog for awhile, you might remember my Where The Wild Things Are baby shower. When it came time to decide on a costume for Jone’s first Halloween – it didn’t take long for me to decide on Max – King of all the Wild Things! After a trip to Baby Gap, Michael’s, and even a little sewing, his first homemade costume came to life! You guys, I’m basically Martha Stewart now (kidding, sort of)!

I couldn’t help but share a few photos with you to show you how much hard work went into this Halloween! And by hard work, I’m not referencing the sewing, but instead, the picture taking! Capturing photos of my own child is much more difficult than photographing your children! That’s the truth!
Now that I’m a parent, I get it – taking time out of your day is hard, putting your kids in outfits is annoying, getting professional pictures taken is inconvenient. But when I look at these photos of Jones, I will remember this time in our life, how hard I worked on his crown and how much I enjoyed doing it! In the years that follow, I will be thankful I fought through all the busyness and made time to properly document his first Halloween.
